This April, the University of Georgia Libraries will commemorate Congress Week with activities featuring a former senator and political reporters.
Congress Week is a yearly initiative supported by the Associations of Centers for the Study of Congress. The Russell Library, which marked its 50th anniversary last year, is a charter member of this association.
“Through our Congress Week activities, the Russell Library aims to enhance public awareness of Congress as the governmental branch that is nearest to the citizens,” stated Russell Library Director Sheryl Vogt. “Focusing on civic education, the two events this year will provide insights from a former member of Congress and perspectives from two seasoned political reporters.”
