Recent statistics published by the University of Georgia Career Center reveal that 95% of UGA’s Class of 2024 were either employed or pursuing further education within six months of graduation.
This class marks the eighth among the last ten to attain a career outcomes rate of 95% or higher.
“Year after year, the achievements of our students underscore the impressive worth of a UGA education,” stated President Jere W. Morehead. “Due to the relentless dedication of our faculty and staff, our diligent graduates are thoroughly equipped to embark on their careers and assume their roles as the forthcoming generation of leaders.”
Of the graduates in the Class of 2024, 61% were employed full-time, 25% were pursuing further education, and 9% participated in post-graduate internships, fellowships, residencies, postdoctoral research, part-time employment, or indicated they were not actively seeking jobs.
A significant number of the employed graduates are utilizing their skills to contribute to the Peach State: 70% secured positions located in Georgia.
Furthermore, graduates from the Class of 2024 accepted roles with various companies spanning multiple industry sectors, including healthcare, business, finance, transportation, and everything in between.
“The University of Georgia consistently prepares remarkable graduates who exit this institution ready to lead and serve across various industries,” commented Scott Williams, executive director of the UGA Career Center. “I appreciate all campus collaborators who enhance the career readiness of our students, as well as our corporate partners who consistently seek top talent from UGA.”
The UGA Career Center assesses the career outcomes rate each January by gathering data from surveys, phone outreach, employer submissions, UGA departments, the National Student Clearinghouse, and social media platforms like LinkedIn. The current figures are based on verified career outcomes of 8,498 graduates from the Class of 2024.
