Starting this autumn, the University of Georgia will initiate a comprehensive planning initiative to create the institution’s upcoming five-year strategic plan.

The strategic plan will be crafted throughout the 2025-26 academic term by a 30-member Strategic Planning Committee, which includes faculty, staff, students, and alumni representing the UGA community. Guided by Alton M. Standifer, vice provost and chief of staff to the provost, along with Nathan A. Moore, deputy chief of staff to the president, this committee will establish a set of objectives and key performance metrics in alignment with three mission-focused strategic priorities:

  • Promote and enhance educational excellence and student achievement
  • Boost and broaden research and innovation that benefits society
  • Reinforce UGA’s commitment to serving communities throughout Georgia and beyond

The committee aims to formulate objectives that are distinct and quantifiable, attainable within a five-year timeframe, and comprehensive enough to cover UGA’s principal academic and administrative divisions.

Contributions from the UGA community are essential for pinpointing crucial institutional goals for the next five years. In pursuit of this, community members are encouraged to fill out a brief feedback survey by Sept. 12.
