The U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) on Thursday extended restrictions on the Russian cryptocurrency exchange platform Garantex for assisting ransomware perpetrators and other cyber offenders by handling over $100 million in transactions associated with unlawful actions since 2019.
The Treasury also announced it is placing sanctions on Garantex’s successor, Grinex.
