“When these are present, it’s uncomfortable to walk without shoes or for pets and children to play on the grass,” Waltz mentioned. “Though it’s not a tough weed to manage, it’s advisable to tackle it before it develops these burs.”

Initially, recognizing the grass type is crucial since not all herbicides are suitable for every grass variety. Following that, it’s essential to apply the appropriate product and ensure proper timing of application.

“If you apply herbicide prior to the plant blooming, you’ll avert the production of the spiky seeds,” Waltz noted. “If you delay too long and it has started seeding, you may eliminate the weed, but the burs will persist.
