The University of Georgia Office of Emergency Readiness has proclaimed the honorees of the 2025 Edward T. and Sarah Laurent Kassinger Scholarship Award.

This esteemed scholarship commemorates full-time public safety personnel who exhibit outstanding commitment to their academic and professional endeavors.

The recipients for this year include:

  • Caroline Bloodworth, emergency operations manager with the UGA Office of Emergency Readiness, earned a Master of Public Administration from UGA.
  • Noelle Broadnax, lead emergency operations manager with the UGA Office of Emergency Readiness, earned a Master of Public Administration from UGA.
  • Daniel Saunders, administrative division lieutenant with the UGA Police Department, earned a Master of Public Administration from Columbus State University.

The Kassinger Scholarship was founded in honor of Edward Kassinger, the former leader of the UGA Public Safety Division, and his spouse, Sarah. It aids employees of the UGA Police Department, the Office of Emergency Readiness, and students in the Criminal Justice Studies Program who completed an undergraduate or graduate degree while being employed full-time.

“Caroline, Noelle, and Daniel embody the ethos of service and scholarship that the Kassinger legacy signifies,” stated Adam Fouche, interim associate vice president for environmental safety, risk, and resilience. “We take pride in their academic accomplishments and their dedication to ensuring UGA’s security.”
