A record-setting 173 items were submitted to the 2025 Flavor of Georgia Food Product Contest, creating an exhilarating atmosphere for the competition on April 17 at The Classic Center in downtown Athens.  

Judges in the initial round indulged in a delightful array of flavors to narrow down the 173 entries to 37 contenders that will vie for the prestigious title of product of the year. The previous highest entry count was 148 in the contests held in 2008 and 2022.

The Flavor of Georgia contest is held each year by the University of Georgia’s College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The CAES Signature Event highlights the most delectable products from market-ready small enterprises in Georgia.
