Florida is rising as a national frontrunner in pediatric rare disease exploration with the endorsement of HB 907, the Sunshine Genetics Act. This statute initiates the $3 million Sunshine Genetics Pilot Program, creates the Florida Institute for Pediatric Rare Diseases at Florida State University’s College of Medicine, and sets the foundation for a $100 billion genomic medicine sector.
