The Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia is delighted to declare Surface Tension, the BFA exhibition for Spring 2025 that highlights the artistic accomplishments of 67 graduating BFA students. The showcase will be displayed in two segments at the Lamar Dodd Main Art Building:
• Initial Opening Reception: Friday, April 4, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm; available for viewing until April 11.
• Subsequent Opening Reception: Friday, April 18, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm; available for viewing until April 25.
Surface Tension is complimentary to attend and showcases an extensive variety of artworks, encompassing ceramics, painting, metal crafts, photography, new media installations, and beyond. The title of the exhibit signifies the artists’ examination of the fragile equilibrium between outward appearances and hidden intricacies. Through their creations, these up-and-coming artists explore the vibrant interaction between surface and depth, encouraging audiences to reflect on the often precarious line separating what is visible and what is experienced.
