Seven UW scholars and recent graduates were granted Fulbright U.S. Student Program scholarships for the 2025–2026 academic session, joining approximately 2,000 students and recent alumni nationwide to engage in graduate studies, research, and English teaching abroad.
The Fulbright scholarship initiative stands as the most extensive U.S. international exchange opportunity for students to undertake graduate work, advanced research, and instruction in elementary and secondary education globally.
“These Fulbright distinctions highlight the outstanding quality of our students and emphasize the University’s dedication to nurturing global citizens and scholars,” stated UW Vice Provost for Global Affairs Ahmad Ezzeddine. “As the nation’s foremost international exchange initiative, Fulbright provides transformative experiences for the forthcoming generation of leaders to meaningfully engage with the global community.
“We are profoundly appreciative of the State Department’s ongoing support for this essential program — one of our country’s most effective mechanisms for citizen diplomacy,” Ezzeddine added. “Through these esteemed fellowships, our scholars will pursue impactful research, service, and educational experiences abroad. They will also exemplify the excellence of American higher education while forming enduring connections that will benefit both our University and our nation for many years ahead.”
