Grief is a common phenomenon, and significant life events, such as the passing of a cherished individual or an unwelcome medical prognosis, can feel insurmountable. SupportNow, a venture established by Jordan and Scott Arogeti, seeks to alleviate these trying times by creating a platform where communities can unite to assist those in distress.

“Everyone is eager to take action upon receiving news, and SupportNow was developed to be the venue where individuals can take those steps,” remarks chief operating officer Scott Arogeti AB ’06.

On the SupportNow platform, users can establish a “support registry” for relatives or friends, whether they are recuperating from an injury or managing a health diagnosis. Through this system, friends and family can contribute funds for groceries or medical expenses, organize meals, arrange volunteers, and offer progress updates.

“Scott and I have always felt old beyond our years, and we aimed to create something significant,” shares Jordan Arogeti AB ’11, the chief executive officer.

The concept for SupportNow emerged after the duo embarked on a “listening tour,” engaging with families, faith groups, nonprofits, and similar organizations to understand what individuals required and desired during the most challenging phases of their lives.

During periods of loss, sorrow, or any significant life event that induces pressure—including joyful ones, like welcoming a newborn—decision fatigue is prevalent. Overwhelmed with tasks during stressful times, individuals find it hard to cope, Jordan explains. Through SupportNow’s “lend a hand” feature, simple tasks like mowing the lawn can be handled by generous friends.

In 2024, over 5,300 families received aid through the platform. The contributors hailed from 52 nations, raising more than $2 million for individuals and families.

“Startups evoke a lot of feelings,” Jordan states. “There’s relief because we offer something that people desire, something they find valuable, but that brings along a new set of hurdles: How do you accelerate, serve them more effectively, and keep progressing?”

The Arogetis are well-versed in the startup ecosystem: Scott’s career has been centered around startups, transitioning there after several years in politics, including a position at the White House post-graduation. Jordan initiated her journey in sports marketing and subsequently advanced through sales at a tech startup.

Besides SupportNow, the Arogetis founded Arogeti Endeavors, which collaborates with startups in Atlanta; the duo serves as angel investors and advisors.

In 2025, the Arogetis utilized client feedback to roll out a new tool called Connect. This online, sortable directory enables individuals to effortlessly filter for active grants relevant to their unique situations, including financial assistance for medical devices, therapies, or bills.

“We’re honored by the faith that families, and those facilitating support efforts on their behalf, have granted us. Our aim is to both do good and succeed,” Scott remarks.
