Leila Sadat, the James Carr Professor of International Criminal Law at Washington University in St. Louis, has been designated to the board of eyeWitness to Atrocities, established by the International Bar Association.

Sadat acted as a special consultant on crimes against humanity to the International Criminal Court prosecutor from 2012-2023 and has recently been named as a U.S. specialist to the Moscow Mechanism. A component of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, it has been invoked five times to tackle human rights violations since Russia’s incursion into Ukraine in February 2022.

She has just completed a three-year fellowship at the Schell Center for Human Rights at Yale Law School. A distinguished academic, she is recognized as one of the leading experts in public international law, international criminal law, human rights, and foreign policy. She boasts over 170 published works and frequently lectures and teaches internationally.
