Respondus Monitor Download Student

Respondus Monitor Download Student is a remote proctoring software designed to monitor students during assessments. Utilizing their webcam and recording footage of their test-taking session, Respondus identifies whether students are cheating.

Teachers can review recorded footage to view any possible violations by exam candidates during an exam, including printing, copying, moving to another page or using other applications.

Features

Respondus Monitor Download Student is a test proctoring software tool designed to create a secure testing environment in Canvas, restricting students from printing, copying, visiting another URL or accessing any other applications during an assessment. In addition, Respondus records videos of each student’s screen and surroundings which instructors can view once testing has concluded. Respondus is available free for students at Johns Manville libraries’ public workstations as well as faculty who wish to incorporate Respondus in their courses.

Students install Respondus tools on their own devices and log into Canvas from that device in order to take tests using LockDown browser and monitor. Due to system requirements, LockDown browser and monitor are only compatible with PC or Mac machines that meet system requirements; for best results ITS strongly suggests students install their software well ahead of their test date in order to troubleshoot any potential issues that might arise.

The software integrates seamlessly with learning platforms such as Canvas, Blackboard, Moodle, Schoology Pearson MyLab and McGraw Hill ALEKS, enabling instructors to assign assessments and provide proctoring instructions from within their system – while students and proctors access exams through their individual learning systems as they normally would – removing the need to schedule appointments in advance and making proctoring available whenever needed.

Respondus allows educators to track student activity and detect cheating with its software. An automated process identifies possible exam violations and assigns each session a risk level score; instructors then have the option of reviewing videos of an exam session or specific question segments to ensure fair and equitable testing experiences for all.

Whenever student behavior raises suspicion, instructors can submit it for review by either the college dean or department chair. Furthermore, instructors may share links to videos of particular students for external scrutiny – something particularly helpful if flagged repeatedly for violations.

SDSU ITS offers training to faculty on both Respondus LockDown Browser and Monitor software. To register for an upcoming webinar session, visit the ITS Webinar Training Website; those wishing to utilize this software should notify their Dean’s Office for approval (policies may differ according to school). Integrations

Respondus Monitor download student allows students to take proctored exams online outside traditional testing centers. Utilizing webcam technology to record their surroundings, this program utilizes real-time detection of student surroundings in order to prevent cheating during tests by blocking access to browsers or programs on their computer and printing, minimizing screen space or launching other apps during an exam period. Furthermore, audio/video recordings capture student behavior during an exam which instructors can review later for review purposes.

Canvas allows instructors to integrate this app seamlessly and is ideal for non-proctored testing environments. Instructors can review exam data and videos from students taking tests online in order to detect cheating during online exams; it also eliminates human proctors during an exam while still respecting student privacy; though such technology should be used with caution.

Instructors can require students to use Respondus LockDown Browser and Respondus Monitor during a quiz or assessment by clicking on its icon in Canvas’ navigation bar. Students then must follow an initial setup sequence before opening their browser for testing purposes. Once done, once exams are finished they may exit it back out into normal mode before going back into class settings as normal – this feature works for both Classic and New Quizzes; instructors can enable it for the whole course or just select assessments.

Respondus Monitor can be integrated with Blackboard Learn to automatically proctor assignments and exams. Institutions who wish to use this integration must obtain a license for Respondus monitor or LockDown browser and create a server profile within Blackboard Learn. Once created, Respondus Apps are recognized within Ultra Course View by Blackboard Learn as Respondus Applications.

Furthermore, students should understand their privacy rights when using Respondus Monitor by reading its Privacy Policy carefully.
