Respondus Monitor can also generate automated reports of potential issues during exams – the software can be installed on computers at New Mexico State University (NMSU), other campus locations with compatible LMS integration or on computers at NMSU itself NMSU campus computer lab computers or any location with compatible LMS integrations.
Students looking to install Respondus Lockdown Browser Download Ipad must visit a link provided by their instructor and select whether they would like it on Windows, Mac, or iPad operating systems. Once selected, students will be taken back to Respondus web page from which they can download an NMSU installer suited for their chosen system.
Once downloaded, students can double-click to open it and follow the on-screen instructions for installation. When this is complete, their browser will launch in a separate window – during an assessment they should leave this active until they have submitted their answers for grading.
Students using iPads must first enable its “Guided Access” feature by visiting Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access. Wired Ethernet connections work best when using Respondus; wireless, USB modem and mobile hotspot connections may experience dropped or interrupted connections due to increased bandwidth demands from Canvas server resulting in lost connectivity, disconnection from quiz or failure to load quiz page; so it is recommended that these devices not be used during examinations as this increases technical risks and potential technical issues.
