Pinski’s Essay Honored by the Lasker Foundation
Amanda Pinski, a doctoral candidate in the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences at WashU, has been acknowledged in a worldwide essay competition for graduate scholars and health profession trainees. The contest was organized by the Lasker Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to promoting biomedical research, public health advocacy, and educational endeavors.

Amanda Pinski, a doctoral candidate in the Division of Biology & Biomedical Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis, has been acknowledged for her essay entitled “Are You Listening?” This work encourages scientists to leverage podcasts as a medium to share their varied perspectives, investigate different disciplines with a focus on interdisciplinary partnerships, and engage with researchers on educational, professional, and personal levels.

Pinski’s essay was among four chosen by the Lasker Foundation as part of its global 2025 Essay Contest available to graduate students and health profession trainees. The foundation is a nonprofit focused on advocating for biomedical research, public health, and educational projects.
