The Board of Trustees at Florida State University re-elected Trustee Peter Collins as its chair with unanimous support during the assembly on Aug. 29.
“I am privileged to take on the role of chair of the FSU Board of Trustees,” Collins remarked. “My affection for the university is profound, and I cherish the opportunity to lead such a devoted and lively group of leaders. Exceptional developments are underway at Florida State University—from unparalleled student achievements to groundbreaking research—and I am thrilled to steer our institution during this extraordinary phase of growth and accomplishment.”
Collins, initially elected as board chair on Aug. 27, 2021, obtained his bachelor’s degree in finance and an MBA from FSU. He is a co-founder and managing principal at Forge Capital Partners, overseeing all private equity operations for the firm and acting as CEO of Forge’s real estate private equity fund division.
He has formerly participated in the FSU Foundation Board of Trustees and chaired both the Investment and Development committees of the foundation.
“Chair Collins has been an invaluable ally in promoting Florida State University as one of the premier public universities in the country,” stated FSU President Richard McCullough. “I genuinely appreciate his leadership, insights, and commitment to the university.”
The 13-member Board of Trustees at Florida State consists of six trustees appointed by the governor of Florida, five appointed by the Florida Board of Governors, one trustee who presides over the university’s Faculty Senate, and another who represents the student body as president.
