Florida State University Unveils Exciting Lineup for 2025-2026 Season: ‘Opening Minds’

Opening Nights at Florida State University has revealed its 2025-2026 season themed “Opening Minds,” bringing together creators, thinkers, and performers, each providing chances to connect, reflect, and discover new viewpoints through the arts.

“This season represents more than outstanding performances — it’s a call to view the world and each other,” stated Kevin Maynard, executive director of Opening Nights. “Through artists who provoke, elevate, and motivate, we’re inviting our community to investigate new concepts, ignite curiosity, and unite through the influence of the arts.”

The season will commence with Jeff Goldblum & The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra (Sept. 5), infusing Hollywood charm and jazz genius into Ruby Diamond Concert Hall. Other featured events include a live discussion with bestselling authors James Patterson and Patrick Leddin (Sept. 28), with every participant receiving a signed edition of “Disrupt Everything and Win”; and Morgan Freeman’s Symphonic Blues Experience, featuring the Tallahassee Symphony Orchestra (Oct. 3).

This season further welcomes VOCES8, the renowned British vocal ensemble celebrated for their performances spanning Renaissance to contemporary choral music (Feb. 14). A diverse array of musical acts includes OkCello (Nov. 5); Bassel & The Supernaturals (Nov. 12); a new piece by Grammy-winner Arturo Sandoval, performed by Imani Winds and Boston Brass (Feb. 3); and Shovels & Rope (Mar. 7).

The season continues to enhance global viewpoints and local involvement through events such as Songs of the Bulbul. This dance piece examines Sufi mysticism and personal autonomy (Mar. 13); and a complimentary public lecture as a part of our annual Chain of Parks Festival collaboration (April 16).

Performances will occur across a variety of locations in Tallahassee, including Ruby Diamond Concert Hall, Goodwood Museum & Gardens, The Moon, and more.

Tickets will be available to the public at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7. Members will have early access and exclusive privileges. To become a member or view the complete season lineup, visit OpeningNights.fsu.edu.
