What is Oem Lockdown Browser?

As online learning becomes more commonplace, there is an urgent need to combat cheating. A download link will be included on your Quiz Details page when required – these tools prevent from opening unauthorized applications while testing, record audio/video of your work by Respondus Monitor when applicable, or both simultaneously using Respondus Monitor/RLDB respectively on your computer while taking an exam/quiz; they do not remain on your system after testing has ended!

To install RLDB, follow these links to the appropriate site for your operating system and download and run the installation file to complete installation. Please be aware that these RLDB installers only support Windows and Mac computers – they won’t run on Chromebooks or Linux/UNIX machines.

On installation of RLDB, a pop-up window will suggest closing other programs before continuing with installation of RLDB. Simply click “Kill these programs” to do this and proceed to myMason/Blackboard where your course can be found and your examination can begin.

If your RLDB program is experiencing issues, checking for patches or reinstalling is usually the solution. To do this, start the application and press either the i button in the upper-left corner or clicking on About in the toolbar; your version number will then be displayed and you can download any necessary updates if applicable.

How to use Oem Lockdown Browser?

Some instructors require students to use Lockdown Browser during online exams. This software prevents students from printing, browsing to another URL or accessing other applications on the computer while taking an exam; additionally it also stops students from closing or exiting their browser until their test has been submitted for grading. What are the benefits of Oem Lockdown Browser?
