FSU Business Programs Shine in Niche Rankings for Excellence

The Florida State University College of Business maintained its leading position among four-year public institutions on Niche’s recently published 2026 Best Colleges for Accounting and Finance in America rankings and climbed to the No. 3 ranking among public universities on its 2026 Best Colleges for Business in America list.

For the last three years, the college has achieved Niche’s highest recognition for its accounting and finance programs, and this year it also ranks No. 5 among all institutions offering accounting and finance across the country. Additionally, this year, the college earned a Top 10 distinction on the overall Best Colleges for Business in America list.

“These rankings further illustrate the exceptional status of our degree programs, and it signifies even more to us that feedback from our students and alumni plays a crucial role in the evaluation,” stated Michael D. Hartline, dean of the college. “Our graduates are undoubtedly pleased with their FSU business education and the career pathways it opens up.”

Niche developed its rankings for prospective students in search of an appropriate college match. As stated on its website, the research organization establishes a school’s rankings by evaluating “reliable data and genuine input from real students.” It gathers much of the data from the U.S. Department of Education, including acceptance rates, enrollment yields, graduation rates, retention figures, and student-to-faculty ratios. Visitors to Niche’s site benefit from comprehensive profiles of each college and university in the United States, each accompanied by ratings and reviews. The site features nearly 9,000 evaluations for FSU specifically.

“My experience at Florida State University was transformative,” shared one of the anonymous reviewers. “The resources were almost boundless. The academics encouraged me to demand more from myself than I believed I could achieve and allowed me to delve into subjects that enriched my personal growth.”

The reviewer also praised the connections made during their time at FSU.

“I am still connected … and intend to keep those relationships throughout my life. I became a better student and a better person during my remarkable time at FSU.”

In addition to the rankings, Niche assigns grades for various categories at each university. FSU predominantly received As on its Niche report card, including A+ for Academics, Athletics, Professors, and Student Life.

Hartline noted that the reputation of FSU and the College of Business is spreading.

“Our concentrated commitment to student achievement, our investments in new programs, the addition of exceptional faculty, and the upcoming January 2026 launch of our new facility, Legacy Hall, ensure that our students thrive both during their time with us and after they graduate,” remarked Hartline. “It’s a fantastic time to be a Seminole!”
