Cybersecurity analysts have highlighted a previously unrecorded Linux backdoor known as Plague that has successfully avoided detection for a year.
“The implant is designed as a harmful PAM (Pluggable Authentication Module), allowing intruders to quietly circumvent system authentication and achieve enduring SSH access,” stated Nextron Systems researcher Pierre-Henri Pezier.
