ADVISORY FROM EXPERTS

Professors at the University of Michigan are ready to converse about the U.S. Census Bureau’s 2024 evaluation of poverty and income data, set to publish on Sept. 9.

The Supplemental Poverty Rate—favored by a majority of academics—stood at 12.9% in 2023, encompassing 42.8 million individuals in poverty. For renting families consisting of two adults and two children, the poverty threshold in 2023 was $37,482.
