EVENT ANNOUNCEMENT
DATE: 1-5 p.m. Saturday, May 10
EVENT: The Flint Block Party will showcase local and regional talents, including numerous U-M graduates and faculty, crafting oversized relief prints utilizing a steamroller as a printing device. Relief printmaking entails designing, carving, and producing handmade stamps with ink and pressure, and attendees can observe these live demonstrations free of charge in downtown Flint. No sign-up is necessary.
Orchestrated by UM-Flint Artist in Residence Janice McCoy and facilitated by the University Musical Society along with other partnering organizations, the event honors community, inclusivity, and the transformative power of art in connecting individuals from all generations and backgrounds. Additional artistic activities will be provided on-site, organized by the Flint Institute of Arts.
