Tsuyoshi Kaneko, MD, the John M. Shoenberg Chair of Cardiovascular Disease in the Department of Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, has been appointed as the fresh director of the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery. Kaneko is a committed and inventive surgeon who became part of the Department of Surgery in 2022. His recent appointment commenced on May 1.

“Dr. Kaneko is an internationally esteemed cardiac surgeon who has exhibited a dedication to expanding and enriching the capabilities that the division offers to our patients and trainees,” stated John A. Olson Jr., MD, PhD, the William K.
