Jim Moran Institute’s 14th Annual Leadership Symposium Takes Center Stage

By Lauren Sparling

Entrepreneurs, business executives, and innovators from all over Florida convened from June 11–13 for the Jim Moran Institute’s 14th annual Leadership Conference, a three-day gathering filled with keynote speeches, workshops, and the introduction of the JMI 30 Awards.

Held at the James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art in downtown St. Petersburg, the conference showcased speakers such as basketball legend Charlie Ward, Jessica Harvey, CEO of the Guy Harvey Foundation, and entrepreneur Ramon Ray. Sessions addressed growth strategies, artificial intelligence, compensation frameworks, and other topics, designed to assist small-business proprietors and entrepreneurs.

This year’s gathering represented a significant moment for the Jim Moran Institute, which has dedicated over 30 years to aiding entrepreneurs through education, mentorship, and community support. The conference offered participants an opportunity to network with peers, learn from industry experts, and depart with actionable strategies they could implement in their businesses immediately.

“Every Jim Moran Institute conference unites a dynamic community of entrepreneurs and leaders who are dedicated to fostering innovation and economic development,” remarked Susan Fiorito, dean of the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship. “It’s motivating to witness the sharing of ideas, connections forming, and the lasting impact that extends well beyond the event.”

On the concluding day, the recipients of the inaugural JMI 30 Awards were unveiled, honoring the 30 fastest-expanding businesses led by alumni or owned by graduates. Inspired by the Seminole 100 awards, this initiative emphasizes exceptional growth and leadership among JMI graduates.

Anuvision Technologies, Inc., a comprehensive technology consulting firm located in Jacksonville, Fla., received the No. 1 position. Owner and CEO Summer Vyne was acknowledged for her remarkable business expansion. The final rankings for the JMI Awards were calculated based on the Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) and verified by RVG & Company.

Fiorito congratulated each recipient as they received their awards.
