Jim Moran Institute Now Open for Program Applications

The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship (JMI), situated within Florida State University’s Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship, is inviting submissions for its forthcoming initiatives available throughout Florida.

JMI’s regional presence encompasses locations and initiatives in Northeast Florida (Jacksonville), Northwest Florida (Tallahassee), Central Florida (Tampa), and South Florida (Fort Lauderdale). Each location has approaching application deadlines for either the fall 2025 or spring 2026 terms. JMI provides an array of impactful initiatives in every region that prepare the succeeding generation of entrepreneurs with the tools essential for achievement.

As the complexities of managing and expanding a small enterprise increase, JMI continues to be a reservoir of knowledge and advanced education. JMI concentrates on supporting enterprises with at least three employees that have been operating for a minimum of three years at little to no expense.

Hosting one of the most extensive outreach programs for small businesses in the country, JMI assists small business proprietors and nonprofit entities across the state of Florida by providing the following initiatives:

  • The Small Business Executive Program (SBEP) targets CEOs, entrepreneurs, business leaders, and presidents of small companies. By learning through the Business Model Canvas, participants emerge as enhanced leaders, prepared to seize business prospects.
  • The Nonprofit Executive Program (NPEP) is aimed at executive directors, presidents, and CEOs of nonprofit organizations. Graduates gain the expertise and training necessary to transform challenges into strategic strengths, leverage opportunities, and enact best practice management.
  • The Leon Entrepreneurship and Adversity Program (LEAP) aims to assist those in the Big Bend area (Leon, Wakulla, and Gadsden counties) and surrounding communities experiencing economic or other difficulties to initiate and expand their own enterprises. The program spans 10 months.
  • The Accelerate Franklin Entrepreneurship Program (AFEP) aims to aid budding entrepreneurs aspiring to transform existing idea-stage, micro, and small projects into viable businesses in Franklin County and contiguous communities.
  • The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans Accelerate (EBV Accelerate) comprises a tri-phase initiative designed to equip veterans with a successful business with the resources and guidance needed to advance their enterprises to the next stage: sustainable growth.
  • The Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans’ Families (EBV-F) is crafted to leverage the skills, resources, and infrastructure provided by higher education to deliver innovative, hands-on training in entrepreneurship and small business management.

About the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship
The Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship fosters, educates, and inspires entrepreneurial leaders through premier executive education, applied training, public acknowledgement, and cutting-edge research.

Jim Moran was a trailblazer in the automotive sector and an entrepreneur at his core, who, at the tender age of seven, sold soda at neighborhood baseball matches in Chicago. Over a career exceeding six decades, he created a remarkable legacy in the automobile domain.

His aspiration for the Jim Moran Institute was to create opportunities that would empower others to become more prosperous business owners. A donation in 1995 from Jim and Jan Moran, along with JM Family Enterprises, founded the Jim Moran Institute for Global Entrepreneurship at the College of Business of Florida State University. Since 2011, further developments within the Jim Moran Institute and its outreach programs have been made possible by Jan Moran and The Jim Moran Foundation. In 2023, the Jim Moran Institute transitioned into the Jim Moran College of Entrepreneurship.
