FSU Honors Student Leaders with the Torchbearer 100 Initiative

One hundred exceptional students were recognized by Florida State University’s 2025 Torchbearer 100 initiative, a distinction from the Division of Student Affairs that acknowledges leadership and enduring influence across campus.

“We appreciate you for embodying the university’s fundamental principles,” stated Vice President for Student Affairs Amy Hecht during the presentation on April 14. “The Torchbearer 100 initiative is designed to acknowledge and honor student leaders for their contributions at Florida State. Our institution’s vitality today is largely due to our honored students.”

A selection committee identified 100 students who displayed and fostered excellence, vibrant inclusivity, transformative bravery, responsible stewardship, and community involvement. The selection procedure begins with applications in September, followed by interviews in October and November. New inductees join an esteemed network representing change-makers, commitment to FSU, and the pledge to continue making a significant impact post-graduation.

Each participant was awarded a unique Torchbearer 100 medallion to don at commencement and was honored for exemplifying Florida State’s tradition of leadership among the student populace.
