Florida State University greeted Google on campus for an entire day of practical training, providing students, faculty, and staff an engaging chance to investigate Google’s most recent generative AI technologies through interactive presentations, workshops, and direct interaction with tech specialists. 

The Google Gemini Pop-up occasion, held on Landis Green, showcased exhibitions of the AI assistant Gemini and the research tool NotebookLM. Attendees interacted with Gemini to discover its functionalities in writing, research, coding, and additional tasks, all facilitated within a secure, cloud-enabled environment. 

“This was a significant day for Florida State University,” remarked Jonathan Fozard, FSU’s chief information officer. “We collaborated with Google to display the capacities our students, faculty, and staff now have across the university in a safe and dependable manner. We prioritize security greatly — Google has collaborated with us to guarantee our researchers’ work and our students’ data are safeguarded in a protected and secure setting.” 

FSU was the sole Research 1 institution in Florida chosen to take part in Google’s AI for Education Accelerator initiative, which is a part of the company’s $1 billion program to enhance higher education via artificial intelligence.
