Thousands of students, faculty, staff, and community members from Florida State University convened on Friday at Langford Green in a moving exhibition of unity to commemorate the two lives lost and the six individuals injured in the shooting at the Student Union the previous Thursday.

The Gathering of Unity vigil created an opportunity for the FSU family to unite and provide support and solace to each other following the tragedy.

President Richard McCullough, Senior Vice President Kyle Clark, FSU Trustee and Student Body President Carson Dale, Director of Counseling and

Psychological Services Carlos Gomez, along with Pastor Jay Winters of the Interfaith Council, expressed words of encouragement and solidarity, while participants placed flowers, candles, and other tributes as touching remembrances.
