Florida State University’s College of Social Sciences and Public Policy (COSSPP) will acknowledge four alumni for their career accomplishments, contributions to the community, and assistance to the college and university.
The college will honor the 2025 Distinguished Alumni — Jennifer Green, Jeff Kottkamp, Bobby Pittman Jr., and Carissa Schively Slotterback — at the College’s Distinguished Alumni Gala scheduled for spring 2026.
“The college’s Distinguished Alumni Award exemplifies the dedication, FSU spirit, and commitment to excellence of our graduates, and the Class of 2025 embodies that beautifully,” stated Dean Tim Chapin. “These distinguished individuals have thrived in politics, entrepreneurship, and higher education in ways that showcase the potential and value of a degree from Florida State University. I could not be more proud to see them recognized as COSSPP’s Distinguished Alumni.”
Jennifer Green serves as the president, CEO, and sole proprietor of Liberty Partners of Tallahassee, LLC, which she established in 2007. With almost 30 years of expertise in lobbying, grassroots advocacy, and political consulting, she has assisted in securing over $100 million in infrastructure financing for rural areas across Florida. An in-demand speaker, expert witness, and ethics proponent, Green received her bachelor’s degree in political science from FSU and an associate degree from St. Petersburg Junior College.
Jeff Kottkamp, a former Florida Lieutenant Governor (2007–2011), will assume the role of CEO and president of Florida TaxWatch starting January 2026. A lawyer and public servant, he has also held a position in the Florida House of Representatives and chaired various state boards and initiatives. Kottkamp remains engaged in the FSU community through the Alumni Association National Board of Directors and was inducted into the FSU Alumni Association Circle of Gold in 2007. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in political science from FSU.
Bobby Pittman Jr. is a founding partner of Kupanda Capital, a platform dedicated to developing and scaling high-impact enterprises. Through initiatives like Fraym, Nithio, and Mavin Global, Pittman Jr. has contributed to fostering sustainable change, especially across the African continent. His public service experience includes positions in the White House, CIA, and U.S. Treasury. A 1997 alumnus of FSU’s economics program, he is a second-generation Seminole and has been recognized multiple times on the Seminole 100 list.
Carissa Schively Slotterback, Ph.D., FAICP, is the dean of the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Public and International Affairs. As a prominent figure in planning and public policy education, she has advocated for civil discourse and student involvement throughout her academic journey. Her research emphasizes stakeholder engagement and collaborative decision-making. Slotterback earned her doctorate in urban and regional planning from Florida State University in 2004.
