FSU Film School Unveils New Theater with Spectacular Alumni Premiere and Student Involvement

Florida State University’s College of Motion Picture Arts commemorated the inauguration of its recently obtained cinema with a distinctive showing of “It Ends,” a feature developed with the assistance of the college and contributions from students.

This screening represented the initial official utilization of the new venue and featured a Q&A segment with the film’s creators — writer-director Alex Ullom and producers Carrie Carusone and Evan Barber, all alumni from the film school’s Class of 2020.

“Observing our alumni return to the location where their creative collaborations began and witnessing them guide and mentor the upcoming generation is a testament to how impactful the filmmaking journey can be,” remarked Dean Reb Braddock.

Produced in collaboration with Torchlight Studios, “It Ends” was shot utilizing Torchlight’s Virtual Production Stage and an alumni equipment package. The LED volume screen enabled the crew to capture realistic vehicle scenes on a soundstage, mitigating the expenses and complications of on-location shooting.
