From now until July, UGA Green Labs is organizing the yearly Freezer Challenge, a competition that motivates researchers to sort through and uphold ultra-low temperature storage units.
The Freezer Challenge is a global effort supported by numerous sustainability groups, advocating for efficiency in cold storage and conservation of energy.
Star Scott, the Green Labs Program Manager, along with her team, guides on-campus laboratories through straightforward measures to effectively clean their freezers, including discarding outdated samples, removing ice, and sanitizing filters.
