Johann Sebastian Bach is globally acclaimed — a composer who evokes the same immense admiration as Shakespeare and Leonardo da Vinci.

However, the renowned status of Bach was eclipsed by his offspring Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach — at least during the lifetime of the latter.

The flute and harpsichord pairing of Brandon Patrick George and Kenneth Weiss will perform compositions by both men on April 18 at 7:30 p.m. at Ramsey Concert Hall.

George is a prominent flute soloist and a Grammy-winning chamber musician with a repertoire that spans from the Baroque period to contemporary works. He is the flutist for Imani Winds and has collaborated as a soloist with the Atlanta, Baltimore, and Albany symphonies; the American Composers Orchestra; and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s, among others.

Weiss concentrates on recitals, chamber music, teaching, and conducting. He frequently performs with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center and takes part in the Berkshire Bach Ensemble’s “Bach at New Year’s” concerts alongside Eugene Drucker and the summer Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival.

This event is made possible by the support of Herb West and Myrna Adams West.
