Florida State University’s College of Law has ascended 10 positions to No. 38 overall in the U.S. News & World Report’s yearly assessment of the country’s premier public and private law schools. The College of Law shares this ranking with Emory University, University of California, Irvine, Fordham University, and the University of Florida.

“This marks our highest ranking to date, and we are extremely proud to witness our hard work being acknowledged,” stated Erin O’Hara O’Connor, dean of the FSU College of Law. “We have improved by 18 ranks over the last two years, emphasizing the excellence of our world-class faculty, our comprehensive legal curriculum, and our exceptional student support services. I also wish to express gratitude for the university’s dedication to enhancing our students’ success — we’re excited to see these initiatives reflected in our rankings.”

The College of Law is additionally positioned at No. 17 among public law schools across the country and is listed in the top 25 among public law schools in eight legal specialties: Environmental Law (No. 8); Contracts/Commercial Law (No. 13); Criminal Law (No. 14); Tax Law (No. 15); Constitutional Law (No. 16); Business/Corporate Law (No. 17); Health Care Law (No. 24); and International Law (No. 25).
