WashU School of Public Health Dean Sandro Galea, MD, DrPH, alongside Olin Business School Dean Michael Mazzeo, facilitated a two-day conversation uniting numerous specialists in academic public health and business from over 60 nations.

The Washington University in St. Louis’s School of Public Health and the World Health Organization conducted an unprecedented, two-day online event on March 27 and 28.

Conversations delved into how public health ideals and frameworks can be incorporated into business education and vice versa, aiming to foster innovative thinking in both areas. Participants examined approaches to more effectively utilize the influence of the private sector in public health practice, as well as how to prepare upcoming business leaders to place emphasis on health equity, societal impact, sustainability, and ethical decision-making alongside profitability and operational efficiency.
