Tricia R. Serio, Provost of the University of Washington, declared the selection of Danny Barrow to assume the role of vice provost for Enrollment Management starting July 28.
Barrow joins from Louisiana State University, where he holds the position of vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success. At UW, he will oversee the Office of Enrollment Management, which encompasses Undergraduate Admissions, the Office of the University Registrar, the Office of Financial Aid, International Student Services, and the Veterans Education Benefits Office.

“Driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the national education landscape, Danny has dedicated his career to enhancing the participation and graduation rates of students at public research universities,” stated Serio. “Motivated by his own experience as a first-generation college student and Pell Grant recipient, he is devoted to supporting students and facilitating their success. I am excited to welcome him to the UW.”
Barrow will also assume the role of a strategic thought leader for the University’s enrollment management initiatives on the Seattle campus. His responsibilities will involve crafting a student financial aid strategy; advancing and perfecting student recruitment approaches; pinpointing and developing vital data and analyses that will inform UW’s enrollment strategy; and directing the modernization of student support services and administrative technology.

In his current position, he supervises University College; the Center for Academic Success; Undergraduate Admissions; the Office of the University Registrar; Financial Aid & Scholarships; the Future Scholars Program; the Office of Retention & Student Success; University Testing & Evaluation; Student Support Services; McNair Scholars; and Enrollment Operations, Data, and IT. He has previously held various leadership roles in admissions and recruitment at the University at Buffalo, the University of Delaware, and Towson University.
Barrow earned his master’s degree in higher education administration from LSU and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from The George Washington University. Additionally, he completed the College Board’s Enrollment Leadership Academy.
