Florida State University’s College of Law and College of Nursing have joined forces to introduce a new Graduate Certificate in Health Law and Policy, aimed at learners and health care practitioners who wish to enhance their knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework within the health sector.
“We are excited to partner with the College of Nursing to provide health care students with essential legal insights and hands-on abilities to effectively navigate the increasingly intricate health care landscape of today,” expressed Erin O’Hara O’Connor, dean of the FSU College of Law. “As the legal and regulatory contexts in health care transform, professionals within the sector must comprehend how to tackle these obstacles.”
The entirely online, asynchronous 12-credit hour certificate program spans a wide array of subjects, such as health law legislation and regulations, compliance tactics, risk management, governance in health care, and policy formulation. Participants will gain skills to interpret pertinent health care laws, reduce potential legal issues, develop and assess compliance programs, and communicate proficiently with legal advisers, regulators, as well as organizational leaders.
“This collaboration embodies our mutual dedication to cultivating health care professionals who are not only outstanding clinicians but also informed leaders capable of confidently navigating the legal intricacies of the modern health care landscape,” stated Jing Wang, dean of the FSU College of Nursing. “By incorporating legal knowledge into health education, we are fulfilling our mission to nurture well-rounded, forward-thinking nurses and health care leaders poised to influence the future of patient care.”
Designed for experts in areas such as compliance, risk management, health care administration, human resources, insurance, and health technology, the program is ideal for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, C-suite leaders, and others engaged at the nexus of health care and law.
