Jacob Chacko, the first executive director of the Center for Diversity & Inclusion and acting director of the Spectrum office within the Division of Student Affairs at Washington University in St. Louis, has been appointed to the Difficult Dialogues National Resource Center’s (DDNRC) board of directors. This organization strives for “transformational change in higher education institutions and their allies to tackle the ongoing challenges concerning justice, equity, and a wholesome environment.” The entity will conduct its yearly conference at WashU from June 30 to July 2.

Chacko plays a key role in leading the WashU “Dialogue Across Difference” initiative, an eight-week program designed to educate undergraduate students on engaging with challenging subjects such as politics, religion, race, and gender in a constructive and meaningful manner.

“Jacob’s ongoing commitment to fostering understanding through conversation positions him as a perfect candidate for this board,” remarked Anna Gonzalez, vice chancellor for student affairs.
