The American Society for Engineering Education has recognized Janie Brennan, a senior lecturer in the Department of Energy, Environmental & Chemical Engineering (EECE) within the McKelvey School of Engineering, with the Ray W. Fahien Award for early-career excellence in chemical engineering education.
Brennan became a member of the faculty at WashU in 2015 after obtaining a Ph.D. focused on protein-based adhesives from Purdue University. Besides teaching courses, mentoring students, and assisting with the organization of summer undergraduate research initiatives, she acts as the associate chair for undergraduate education in EECE.
