Ati Respondus
Using Respondus LockDown Browser during exams in your Cougar Courses (Canvas) might be mandated by your instructor. During an exam session, this system forbids copying, printing, accessing other URLs, and using other programs.
Perform a dry run before the planned exam date to ensure that your computer or iPad satisfies the system requirements for taking the TEAS remote proctored examination. Also read this for advice on how to arrange your room.
Test Format
By using computers or iPads with dependable Internet connections and all required software, students can take the TEAS exam online using a platform created by Test Format ATI. For this exam, remote proctoring will be provided by Proctorio.
Each section of the TEAS exam has a different question type with a unique format and time limit. For example, in the Science section of the TEAS 6 exam, students had 63 minutes to respond to 53 questions within 60 minutes; in the Science section of the TEAS 7 exam, this time limit has been reduced slightly to 60 minutes per 50 questions.
For its Writing portion, Respondus allows multiple choice, true/false, essay, short answer, and matching questions. All questions must first follow Respondus Standard Format in order to be imported into the test; this lists the requirements for each question in order for it to be recognized as having been answered correctly.
Each True/False question must be formatted with its number (), followed by a period or parenthesis, and then the question’s wording. When taking the TEAS exam, feedback for correct answers must also be included. For instance, question 3 from TEAS requires both the tilde symbol () and any text that appears as feedback in Respondus in order to effectively import.
Reading
In order to give students confidence before taking their ATI TEAS exam online, Respondus offers a pre-exam check. This check includes webcam and microphone tests that determine whether a student’s webcam and speakers are working as expected and whether their computer satisfies the minimal system requirements stipulated by ATI.
The Webcam and Microphone Test checks the functionality of your webcam and microphone by streaming video and audio from them straight to Respondus servers. This footage is just temporarily cached on their servers for up to an hour and is not permanently preserved or associated with any specific user; also, its template of facial features is not stored either and is deleted as soon as processing of the recording is complete.
During its System Check, Respondus gathers and sends particular data from your computer, network environment, institution-specific learning management system, and the Respondus Monitor app to its server. You are informed of its collection/transfer via the Report an Issue tool. This data collection aids in debugging issues discovered during an examination session.
Accessing or using Respondus Monitor in any way that contravenes these Terms of Service is prohibited. If this happens, your account will be cancelled instantly and without prior notice, and Respondus or your institution may take legal or fine action against you. Additionally, by accepting these conditions, you consent to binding arbitration in the event that a claim or disagreement arises about the use of the Respondus Monitor.
Students must recall the processes of the scientific method, comprehend the distinctions between the forms of matter (solid, liquid, and gas), and be aware of the precise temperature ranges that water can withstand in order to answer questions in the science section of the ATI TEAS. We have compiled 20 essential topics for students to study and make sure they fully understand before taking the test in order to aid in their exam preparation.
50 questions in the science section of the TEAS 7 test are about general pathology, physiology, and anatomy. Although the TEAS 6 exam concentrated more on mathematical abilities than biology and chemistry themes, familiarizing yourself with these subjects will be essential for passing this test.
BHCC requires prospective students to pass the TEAS in order to enroll in some Health Sciences programs like Nursing and Medical Imaging. For exact minimum scores and testing requirements, please check the websites for each program. The TEAS Lockdown Browser should only be used during tests that are administered on-campus; it cannot be used at home if faculty have administrator rights on computers where students will take the exam. It serves to supplement but not replace proctoring roles in classrooms and labs by blocking access to other websites and software.
Science
ATI TEAS science section questions require students to remember the steps of scientific method, understand states of matter (solid, liquid and gas) as well as specific temperature limits water can reach. In order to help students prepare better for this exam, we’ve collected 20 key items they must study and ensure they fully grasp before sitting for the exam.
The TEAS 7 science portion includes 50 questions covering anatomy, physiology and general pathology. While the TEAS 6 exam focused more on algebraic skills than biology and chemistry topics, reviewing these areas will prove crucial in passing this exam.
BHCC’s Health Sciences programs such as Nursing and Medical Imaging require that prospective students pass the TEAS. Please visit individual program webpages for specific minimum scores and testing requirements. The TEAS Lockdown Browser serves to supplement but not replace proctoring roles in classrooms and labs by blocking access to other web sites and software; therefore it should only be used during tests administered on-campus; it cannot be used at home if faculty have administrator rights on computers where students will take the exam.
English & Language Usage
To make comments to a patient’s chart or give instructions to coworkers, you’ll need to be able to write well as a nurse. In order to provide clients and the broader public with educational materials, written communication is also essential. Your ability to spell correctly, create sentences and paragraphs that clearly explain your thoughts, and utilize the proper terminology and communication styles while speaking to particular audiences are all evaluated on the English & Language Usage section of the test.
Many of the questions in this area ask you to choose the appropriate rule of grammar, spelling, or punctuation based on a sentence or passage. Some words need you to infer their meaning from context cues or where they are used in a sentence.
Although there are no unbreakable rules for grammar and usage, numerous publications, organizations, and people (such as style manuals and language experts) try to codify them. Even websites that assist in selecting the appropriate punctuation or word choices for certain settings exist.
Similar to version 6 but with 37 more questions and lengthier time limitations for this subject, the English and Language Usage section of the TEAS exam has 37 questions and 37 minutes given for answering them. If passing the test is your objective, think about using study tools like review books, online courses, and practice exams to prepare for this section of the exam.
