
David Conner, AB ’74, a global entrepreneur, dedicated philanthropist, alumnus, and advocate for Washington University in St. Louis, was honored with the 2025 Dean’s Medal by Feng Sheng Hu, the Richard G. Engelsmann Dean of Arts & Sciences, on March 27 during an awards event.
During the event, Hu also awarded the institution’s early career achievement and distinguished alumni accolades, which celebrate the recipients’ dedication to the principles of liberal arts education throughout their lives, careers, and service.
Chelsea Hirschhorn, AB ’06, CEO and founder of Frida, the parent organization of Frida Baby, Frida Mom, and Frida Fertility, was honored with the institution’s early-career achievement distinction.
The distinguished alumni honors were given to Ruth DeFries, AB ’76, the Denning Family Professor of Sustainable Development at Columbia University and chief academic officer and co-founding dean emerita of the Columbia Climate School; Michael Kumar, AB ’89, deputy chairman and interim group chief financial officer at the Klesch Group; and Henry Warshaw, AB ’76, MBA ’79, co-founder and president of Virtual Realty Enterprises LLC, a nationwide property development company.
