Angel Stadium buzzes with the Spirit of Troy
The USC Trojan Marching Band performed a pregame set prior to the getaway-day match between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels.
The Spirit of Troy brought life to Angel Stadium last Sunday, with numerous USC supporters in attendance and the Trojan Marching Band alongside spirit groups entertaining on the field. The full band played a pregame set before the getaway-day match between the Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Angels, delivering fight songs and both classic and contemporary rock hits “Country Girl” and “Tusk.” Director Jacob Vogel then executed the ceremonial first pitch directly over the plate to Angels catching coach Jason Brown, a former USC baseball player.

The Trojan Marching Band also serenaded the national anthem before the teams took the field — after which the students could enjoy the game. The previous day, band members had wrapped up their 10-day band camp, making the game a welcomed break before classes commenced the following day.
