Ramesh Agarwal, who holds the William Palm Professor position in Engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering at Washington University in St. Louis, is set to be awarded the 2025 John J. Montgomery Award for Exceptional Innovation in Aerospace by the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) in May 2025.

The Montgomery Award honors the significant achievements of a single engineer within the global community who has investigated, designed, or advanced new technologies or apparatuses for the aerospace sector, including propulsion, aerospace structures and materials, as well as stability and control. Awardees are selected based on their substantial contributions to both aeronautics and astronautics, along with the broader engineering community. These individuals have displayed creativity, visionary thinking, and a passion for innovation, aiding in the transformation of the industry and paving the way for future advancements in the discipline.

Agarwal will be presented with the Montgomery Award at the forthcoming ASME conference scheduled for May 5-7 in Houston.
