Coursera achieves the highest possible rating in eight criteria, such as Partner Ecosystem, Individual Skills Evaluation, Team Skills Evaluation, and AI Abilities for Skills Development

I am thrilled to share that Coursera has been acknowledged as a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Technology Skills Development Platforms, Q2 2025, earning the highest rating possible in eight of Forrester’s assessment criteria.
In preparing the report, Forrester identified the eight most prominent tech skill development platform providers and assessed them against 19 criteria, including interviews with Coursera clients. The report notes: “organizations aiming for extensive tech domain coverage through numerous customizable learning plans and a data-driven approach to ongoing upskilling should consider Coursera.” Below are four primary reasons we believe Forrester has recognized Coursera as a leader:
- Industry-relevant learning, delivered by top-tier institutions
In the report, Coursera’s vendor profile mentions: “Clients emphasize its premium content from esteemed partners and the rapid pace of new content as notable strengths”. Coursera collaborates with renowned universities – such as Stanford, Yale, Johns Hopkins University, and the University of Michigan – as well as leading multinational companies – including Google, Meta, Microsoft, IBM, and Amazon.
Forrester’s report highlights that Coursera boasts “a robust [content] partner ecosystem”, with Coursera attaining the highest possible score of 5/5 in the Partner Ecosystem criterion. In total, over 350 university and industry partners join forces with Coursera to deliver essential job-relevant skills to employees across more than 1,600 paid enterprise clients.
- Innovations in AI platforms for tailored, personalized learning
Coursera’s AI platform innovations, including Course Builder, Dialogues, and Role Play, are crafted to empower Learning & Development leaders to design personalized, immersive learning interactions. Coursera earned the highest score achievable in the AI Abilities for Skills Development criterion. Forrester’s report acknowledges that Coursera’s clients “praise the AI-enabled course builder for significantly accelerating the creation of customized learning paths.”
- Comprehensive and current coverage of critical skill areas
As Generative AI, cloud computing, and other emerging technologies swiftly reshape the workplace, organizations necessitate skills development platforms that provide learners with vital modern job competencies. Forrester’s report acknowledges that Coursera “quickly adapts to trends, such as incorporating new AI tool content within 48 hours”, and that Coursera’s content marketplace guarantees strong domain coverage. Coursera received a 5/5 rating in the Broad Tech-Domain Coverage criterion.
- Robust analytics for monitoring individual and organizational skill growth
As organizations strive for greater adaptability to the evolving economic climate and seek evidence of ROI on learning and development initiatives, they require sophisticated methods for tracking employee learning and skill acquisition. Forrester’s report claims that “Coursera excels in individual and team skills evaluation.” Coursera obtained a 5/5 in both the Individual Skills Evaluation and Team Skills Evaluation criteria.
