Over 20 years prior, Stanford and SLAC initiated the Kavli Institute for Particle Astrophysics and Cosmology, triggering a sequence of events that contributed to the realization of the Legacy Survey of Space and Time (LSST). On Monday, researchers and engineers responded to the initial images from the NSF–DOE Vera C. Rubin Observatory, signifying a significant achievement for LSST and its exploration of the southern sky.
