The FSU Board of Trustees will review the suggestion during a meeting at 9:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 24 (meeting dates and times are liable to modification). Please keep checking the Board of Trustees website for any alterations to the upcoming meeting date and time at https://trustees.fsu.edu/meetings.
Purpose and Allocation of Funds
Out-of-State Fee: This charge upholds the standard, accessibility, and competitive nature of academic offerings and student services amidst escalating operational expenses. This fee has not seen an increase in over a decade. This rise guarantees that out-of-state students contribute to the overall cost of education, facilities, and services provided by FSU.
Out-of-State Financial Aid Fee: This charge supports student financial aid awards as well as related administrative expenses. Similar to the Out-of-State Fee, it has remained stable for more than a decade. During this period, the university has considerably expanded its need-based and merit-based aid initiatives. The suggested increase will assist in alleviating the rising costs of these programs.
In accordance with state legislation, this notification is being sent via email to all enrolled students.
