Thirteen educators from the St. Louis area have been chosen to collaborate with WashU faculty for the 2025 Summer Teacher-Researcher Program.

Conducted in partnership with Washington University in St. Louis’ Institute for School Partnership, the initiative aims to create connections between faculty and local educators, as well as to offer professional growth opportunities for K-12 teachers in the region.
Teacher-researchers engage for four to six weeks during the summer, collaborating with WashU faculty in state-of-the-art laboratories and gaining direct experience at the core of authentic scientific inquiry.
The class of 2025 includes four teachers from the School District of University City: Tasha Jordan, Matt Tuths, Rubina McCadney, and Monique Hite-Patterson, along with Alexandra Hays (Lafayette Prep Academy), Jose Helio de Souza (Normandy Schools Collaborative), Anne Deken (John Burroughs), Andrea Holmes-Bownes (East St. Louis District 189), Alex Messina (St. Charles R-VI), Joe Bartin (Kirkwood), Sarah Scerba (Rockwood), David Ganey (Maplewood Richmond Heights), and Kirstin Blase (Villa Duchesne).
