Kat Duncan Campbell found her entrepreneurial passion through a traditional method. She completed a personality assessment.
Pragmatic yet compassionate. She is reflective and holds exceptionally high expectations. She recognizes her imperfections but ensures they don’t impede her work.
Once all the information was analyzed, the findings suggested professions in home organization or domestic services. The suggestion felt perfect.
“I’ve always been someone who enjoys organizing,” states Campbell AB ’14. “As a child, I was frequently rearranging my room. Everything had its designated spot. My binder had dividers. That’s simply who I am.
“However, I had no idea that was a remunerative option.”
This is how UpTown Concierge came to be, the home organization and property management firm that Campbell established a decade ago. She operates her business from her residence in Newnan, while her team spends most of their time in others’ homes, converting them from cluttered chaotic spaces into serene retreats.
“Entering a house filled with clutter makes it challenging for your mind to concentrate,” Campbell explains. “There are tangible advantages to maintaining a neat, organized environment. Sure, we desire aesthetically pleasing rooms, but the priority lies in creating functional areas where you can flourish.”
Campbell’s profession is a significant departure from her initial path, yet a discernible journey exists. A formally trained vocalist, Campbell earned a degree in vocal performance at UGA. She relocated to New York right after graduation to delve into musical theater but quickly realized that a career in that realm wasn’t her true aspiration.
Nevertheless, the confidence, grace, and personal presentation abilities she developed on stage greatly benefited her when she returned to Georgia to establish what is now UpTown Concierge.

To kick things off, she joined multiple local Facebook communities, spanning from Buckhead to the suburbs of Atlanta. Interest surged almost instantly, despite the diverse nature of the work. Campbell organized children’s birthday celebrations, assisted families in unpacking post-move, tackled laundry tasks, and restructured homes.
Before long, she found herself working 80-hour weeks. She employed her first team member ten months later. Her business now accommodates twelve employees. Within a year, she had narrowed her focus to home organization and property management.
Home organization is an intimate matter—we don’t just share our sock drawers with anyone. Campbell recognizes this reality and brings a sense of respect to her endeavors.
“We customize our method to the client,” she mentions. “We see everything present in a residence. You, the client, must establish a sense of connection with us within your space. We are truly fortunate to have the ability to cultivate our team into exceptional organizers, but they also possess what I term a ‘servant’s heart.’ They genuinely aim to assist.”
