The Food and Agriculture Research Mission (FARM) at the WashU School of Public Health has initiated the Cultivate Grants Fund to foster groundbreaking research that connects agriculture, health, and technology. As the inaugural FARM initiative, the Cultivate grants seek to ignite pragmatic, scalable solutions to enhance food systems and public health.

This program presents two funding categories, with a maximum of two grants awarded in each category twice annually. Track 1 is targeted towards early-career researchers and provides up to $40,000 for one year to facilitate the investigation of innovative research ideas and to bolster future grant proposals. The submission deadline is July 1. Track 2 is intended for established multidisciplinary teams conducting thorough preliminary research into novel concepts, methodologies, and strategies; it allocates up to $250,000 of funding over a span of two to three years. The deadline for submission is Aug. 1.

Details and guidelines for the inaugural round of Cultivate grants can be found in InfoReady (Track 1 and Track 2) and on the school’s FARM website. Additional information is also available on the School of Public Health website.
