WHAT: Washington University’s 164th Graduation ceremony
The university will award academic degrees to around 3,600 undergraduates, graduates, and professional students in the Class of 2025.
The university-wide event will be succeeded by a comprehensive Commencement celebration from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. The festival will showcase local cuisine and beverages, games, photographic opportunities, and live performances spanning from Mudd Field on the western side of the Danforth Campus to Tisch Park on the eastern end.
COMMENCEMENT SPEAKER: Simone Biles, widely recognized as one of the most exceptional athletes in history, will present the Commencement address and receive an honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree. Five additional individuals will also be awarded honorary degrees.

MEDIA CREDENTIALS, PARKING AND ACCESS:
News outlets sending a reporter to Commencement should contact Kedra Tolson at 314-249-5112 by 5 p.m. on Friday, May 9, to arrange for a reserved seating.
Parking will be accessible on a first-come, first-served basis in front of Blewett Hall, 6500 Forsyth Blvd. From Forsyth Boulevard, turn south onto Wallace Circle drive; media parking is located on the surface lot immediately to the right.
To enter the lot and to obtain a WashU-issued media credential for covering the university-wide Commencement ceremony, media representatives must present a press credential from one of the news organizations that received this advisory.
Media must display a WashU-issued media credential to enter Francis Olympic Field. If you fail to collect your media credential while parking in the designated lot, please coordinate with a university media relations team member to retrieve it near the gate entrance. Refer to contact details below.
A mult box will be provided near the stage. The reserved media seating is located on the eastern side of Francis Olympic Field, closest to the main entrance.
PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS will be allowed to move around during the first two minutes of Chancellor Andrew Martin and Simone Biles’ speeches, after which they will need to remain in the reserved media area for the rest of the event.
LIVE TV BROADCASTS: TV stations wishing to broadcast live from near Francis Olympic Field must coordinate with Liam Otten in advance to receive parking guidance. Liam’s contact number is 314-874-6331. PLEASE NOTE: The nearest parking is located at the Blewett Hall lot, across Forsyth from the field.
