Leuthardt and Mitra Achieve Prestigious AIMBE Fellowship Honors
Eric C. Leuthardt (on the left) and Robi Mitra from WashU Medicine have been honored as fellows of the American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering.

The American Institute for Medical and Biological Engineering (AIMBE) has recognized two new fellows from Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. These two academic staff members join 30 of their colleagues from WashU already part of the organization, including seven who were welcomed previously

Eric C. Leuthardt, MD, the Shi H. Huang Professor of Neurological Surgery, and Robi Mitra, PhD, the Alvin Goldfarb Distinguished Professor of Computational Biology within the Department of Genetics, will be inducted on March 31 in Arlington, Virginia, alongside 169 other newly appointed fellows from various parts of the United States. Leuthardt additionally serves as an affiliate faculty member in biomedical engineering at the McKelvey School of Engineering.

The AIMBE’s College of Fellows is exceptionally selective; candidates are put forward each year by their peers for their significant contributions to engineering and medical research, practice, or education.
